Contract Inspection
Apex can offer you more available capacity by measuring components at our facility in Loanhead. Accredited Applications Engineers working with certified equipment can handle parts up to 800mm diameter x 2000mm long using the latest CMM & 5-Axis Probing Technologies.

First/Last Article Inspection Reports – We can take samples are deliver the complete inspection solution, fully reported and support by our Accredited Applications Engineers
Inspection Pack Planning
Creation of the inspection pack including Ballooned Drawings assigning a unique identifier to each feature with the ability to define the inspection equipment to be used provides a standard pack to be followed.
Detailed Reports for FAIR, PPAP or Bespoke are available to compliment the Ballooned Drawing

Metrology Software Training
Training is delivered both on-site and off-site with each course dedicated to specific customers in a maximum group of 3 to ensure ‘hands-on’ experience is gained in the process of CMM Measurement. Utilising customer components from an early stage in the training, using a training block only as a supplementary aid means that at the end of the course the trainee can apply what has been learnt directly on the parts expected to be measured.

Fixturing Design & Supply
Holding the component to be measured can be critical as all dimensions to be measured need to be accessible while maintaining stability to provide accurate and repeatable data. Poor work-holding will provide poor data and likely affect the manufacturing process as unstable data is delivered.
We can assist by providing guidance and design support to either utilise Modular Fixturing from Verus Metrology Partners or Renishaw plc. Modular Fixturing both provide solutions that do not require dedicated tooling and can easily be adapted for different parts, multiple-part loading and operator loading guidance.
Small, light flexible parts bring a different challenge as they are be distorted. We collaborate with Verus Metrology Partners to design & deliver bespoke fixturing that will minimise the effects of stability.
Component, Fixture & Jig Calibration
Our Accreditation covers certifying data measured on Master Parts, Fixtures & Alignment Jigs with traceable data. Once the initial Calibration has been completed we issue reminders 11 months later to recertify.
Reverse Engineering
We can investigate parts that are dimensionally unknown or worn to create measurement reports and CAD output files that allow regeneration and replacement components to be created. Using a combination of contact and non-contact methods a complete model of the component can be created.
